A Common Scenario

Fan Question:
I do have a question on where to start, I have been having trouble. I gained 60 pounds while pregnant. My highest weight was 194, right before my son was born. I went down to 179 2 weeks after, but now he is almost 4 months old and I weigh 190! I am exclusively breastfeeding, eating somewhat healthfully and taking a probiotic and pre-natal vitamin. It is hard for me to get active because my knees hurt trying to handle this weight. (I’m 5’3″ so I’m wearing the weight hard!) Please help!!

Baby Weight Response:

This happens sometimes. Don’t lose faith! You have to take a realistic look at what you are really eating (AND DRINKING), which could be sabotaging your efforts, and you need to find ways to get active in a low-impact way to avoid injury or discomfort. Toning exercises like my CoreMama program can help, coupled with low impact aerobic activities like walking, swimming, or the eliptical machine. I recommend keeping a food and activity journal for a week as a start. Use an online calorie counter to add up your daily intake to get a realistic picture. Good luck and keep us posted!!
